Tango in the Attic

“There’s no place I’d rather be, this place is happy for me.”

Say it ten times fast.  Bank Place Locomotive Society, the new debut from Tango in the Attic, is a new gem in the crown of Glenrothes, Scotland. The perfect chirpy, sun-drenched, garage pop summer soundtrack for those still riding the massive afro-pop wave that Vampire Weekend popularized (not originated) in the past few years. Tango, in fact, may even be a bit more radio friendly than the genre’s current kings.  The band sounds a distant cousin to tropical punk-rock extraordinaires Abe Vigoda or UK neighbors Fair Ohs.  They just finished playing Scotland’s T in the Park, and will continue with a few additional gigs throughout the summer.
