“I’m at my worst when it’s not rehearsed, I don’t want to know the goddam words.”
Anyone even remotely interested in the late 90’s post punk offerings from seminal labels such as Saddle Creek or Deep Elm will have some kind of feelings about Omaha’s equally seminal Cursive. Since its first release back in ’97, the band has consistently offered up some of the very best indie-rock of its day. They may have softened in their 12+ years of existence, as Mama, I’m Swollen, goes to show, but the change in direction is both welcome and well received. The 7th studio album came out just last week.
