As a follow-up to last year’s post about young troubadour Cory Chisel, the boy with a voice of gold, Tuesday will see the release of the group’s new EP Cabin Ghosts. Although the band calls the small town of Appleton, WI home, they’ve ventured across state lines enough times to make a considerable impression on local Twin Cities indie connoisseurs. For those interested locally, the band hits the Varsity Theatre on July 23rd with Joshua James – I wouldn’t miss it. Undoubtedly, Cory and his band stick to their signature folk musings and considerable adult alternative leanings without much deviation. It certainly seems to be working as the band is in the middle of a healthy 20+ date tour and just signed to an imprint of major label RCA.
